Marriage records [microform], 1866-1907.

Marriage records may include bonds, books, certificates, licenses, marriage registers or ministers' returns. Indexes to marriage records may be available. Marriage books document the legal union of man and woman as husband and wife. They may contain one or more of the following: marriage license, bond, register or minister's return, certificates and consents. Various counties may also have maintained these records as separate series. Marriage registers or ministers' returns were filed with the county clerk within twelve months after the minister or public official performed the ceremony

Green County, formed in 1792 from Lincoln and Nelson Counties, was the sixteenth county created in Kentucky. It was named for General Nathaniel Greene. Greensburg is the county seat.
